Hello there, and welcome! My name is andy glass, I’m a 25 year old with a passion for woodworking. I reside in North Dakota, where you can usually find me building projects in my detached garage, aka the “Glass Impressions Shop”. This is where I create all of my woodworking projects and videos.
My whole life I have been wired differently. I’ve always looked at the fabricated objects around me with questions. Why is this object built a certain why? How does it work? Why does it work that way? How can I improve upon it? These questions and desires to understand the workings of these fabricated objects surrounding me has instilled in me a desire to construct different items. As a child I grew up loving to build anything and everything. From using popsicle sticks and a hot glue gun to legos I was able to let my imagination run wild designing different constructs.
My first memories with woodworking were with my grandfather Dave. H was a master carpenter and woodworker, which was a major influence on me at a young age. After retiring he built himself a small shop at his home in Minnesota. When going to visit we would spend hours on end in the wood-shop where I watched, learned, and eventually participated in his projects. Those memories are relived every time I make sawdust.
During high school everyone wanted to take shop class. Cars, Engines, Oil Changes where not my cup of tea! I Took Construction And Woodworking Classes, where I Felt more At Home. My time in these classes during High School Is The Only Formal Education I Have When It Comes To Woodworking. The Rest Is Self-Taught With Online Resources, Books, And Occasionally In Other Woodworkers’ Shops. Within The Last 5 Years My Skills Have Improved, Tool Collection Has Grown, And Passion Has Increased.
YouTube has been a great way for me to continue to learn from some of the greatest minds in woodworking. It has been an invaluable resource, not only woodworking, but other aspects of house projects. Let’s face it, you can learn how to do just about anything on YouTube, from welding to computer programming, the possibilities are endless. This vast amount of information is what I love about YouTube, if it was up to me I wouldn’t even have cable!
The majority of my free time is spent watching woodworking videos and visiting forums dedicated to woodworking. This online community of woodworkers is passionate and geared towards helping others learn, which inspired me to embark on my own YouTube endeavor. On January 29th , 2015 I released my first video on YouTube. I Made A 4″ Blast Gate For My New Dust Collections System. The Initial Interaction Was Difficult, It Seemed I Was Making Videos For A Handful Of People. I Needed A Way To Reach Out To The Woodworking Community. I Turned To Social Media And Online Woodworking Forms. The Combination Of High Quality Video And The Easy To Watch Style Created Content That Really Grabbed People’s Attention.
I Want To Say Thank You To You For Visiting My Site, Watching My Videos, And Giving Your Input. I Put All This Work Into My Projects, Videos, And Online Content For You. Without Viewers, Subscribers, And Fans I Wouldn’t Be Where I Am Today.

Hi Andy,
Thanks so much for sharing … !
Saw your cnc dust boot project on you tube. You stated a file was available but I couldn’t find it. Would very much like to make one. How can I get ahold of the file and sources for the brooms and magnets. Thanks

Hello Andy! I was wondering what you charge for a over-sized shoe box? I too live in North Dakota and like to travel. I was hoping maybe you can build me 2 of these over sized boxes and I can drive to you to pick them up. Thank you and please let me know. Even pre-cut material would be great. I am not one for wood work right now and don’t have all the correct tools.
Emailed you
